Sustainability at Half Asleep
Sleepwear should feel good in every sense. At Half Asleep, we create soft, thoughtfully made pajamas using considered materials, lower-impact dyes, and packaging designed to reduce unnecessary waste.
We know no product is completely without impact. Our goal is to make more responsible choices at every stage—and to keep improving as better options become available.
Thoughtfully Chosen Materials
Our sleepwear is made with soft, breathable natural and bio-based fibers rather than conventional synthetic fabrics.
One of our primary materials is TENCEL™ Modal, a smooth and breathable fiber derived from responsibly sourced beechwood. Its manufacturer, Lenzing, uses a closed-loop production process that recovers or transforms many of the resources used during manufacturing.
The result is lightweight, comfortable sleepwear designed to feel soft against your skin.
Low-Impact Dyes
We use low-impact dyes selected to reduce the environmental impact of the dyeing process. Our fabrics meet bluesign® standards, which help promote safer chemistry and more responsible manufacturing practices.
Because color should bring joy—not unnecessary harm.
What Does bluesign® Certification Mean?
bluesign® is an independent certification system for safer and more responsible textile production.
Its standards evaluate how fabrics are made, including the chemicals used, water and energy consumption, pollution controls, and protections for workers and consumers. Certification means our fabrics have been produced through processes assessed against these requirements.
For us, it provides added assurance that the materials we choose meet recognized standards for safer chemistry, responsible resource use, and reduced environmental impact.
Mitigating Waste
We look for ways to make the most of the materials we already have.
When possible, leftover fabric from sleepwear production is repurposed into smaller accessories, such as scrunchies. This allows us to give useful offcuts a second life instead of treating them as waste.
Our hangtags, business cards, and thank-you notes are made with cotton paper created from garment-industry fabric scraps.
More Considered Packaging
We avoid virgin plastic and choose recycled, recyclable, biodegradable, or compostable packaging whenever possible.
Orders are shipped in boxes made with recycled and FSC-certified paper. Individual garments and accessories are protected in transparent bags made from recycled plastic.
We continue to evaluate our packaging and look for practical ways to reduce its impact without compromising the protection of your order.
Comfort, Considered
We believe comfort and responsibility can coexist. From the fibers we choose to the way each piece is dyed and packaged, every detail is considered with you and the world around us in mind.
Made to Be Loved Longer
The most sustainable pieces are the ones you reach for again and again. Our sleepwear is designed for lasting comfort, with thoughtful care helping preserve its softness, shape, and color.
Progress, not Perfection
Sustainability is an ongoing practice, not a finished claim. We’re proud of the choices we’ve made and remain committed to learning, improving, and making better decisions as we grow.
